On Friday, September 16th, 2016, the Law and Justice Club celebrated Constitution Day in the courtyard during all lunches! Students came out to listen to Surfing on Saturn, a student-comprised band, as Law and Justice club members and officers celebrated Constitution Day by handing out informative pamphlets and goodies. Educational Skits
Last year, we rekindled a past project – performing educational safety skits to elementary schools around Weston, including Manatee Bay and Everglades Elementary. Law and Justice members thought of the Mario and Luigi video games and created and wrote a short play teaching the kids about safety and precaution. Fall and Spring Mock Trials
Every year, the Law and Justice Club participates in the Broward County Mock Trials. A mock trial is just like a real trial that takes place in a real-life courtroom in front of a judge or experienced law student. Each year the prosecution and defense teams, which are made up of students from high schools around the county, are presented a new case to cover and defend, in which they must create opening and closing statements, cross-examination questions, witness testimonies, and valid points for the fictional case.
